		<description>The reason I&#039;m okay with the occasional hung up process in Xfce, and not in GNOME:

Ctrl + Alt + Esc

Turns your cursor into a white X, killing anything clicked. It&#039;s basically just a key-binding for what you&#039;ve come across. Boy is it USEFUL! Should you decide the white X of death was a mistake and you don&#039;t want to let it loose on one of your apps running, try right-clicking. Makes the X become your cursor again.

I can&#039;t tell you how many times I&#039;ve unjustly killed my panel. But it&#039;s even more troubling login to your desktop, it&#039;s icons, aaand no panel(s). Rare but it&#039;s happened to me. Alt-F2 &quot;xfce4-panel&quot; really came in handy then.</description>
